Score 4 Phonics

A fun phonics game that helps children learn to read through blending.

Score 4 Phonics teaches children to decode words by blending letter sounds together, one of the most important skills for becoming a successful reader. Instead of memorizing words or relying on guessing, children practice sounding out words and connecting them to meaning through engaging game play. The app emphasizes continuous blending, helping sounds flow together naturally to make decoding easier.  

How It Works

Children:

• Drag a blending slider to hear each letter sound.

• Blend the sounds together to read the word.

• Choose the picture that matches the word.

• Place their game piece on the board after each correct answer.

• Try to connect four in a row while building real reading skills.  

Skills Included

Score 4 Phonics includes practice with:

• Short vowel CVC words

• Beginning and ending blends

• Silent e (CVCe) words

• Digraphs including SH, CH, TH, and CK

Skills progress from easier to more advanced, making the app appropriate for beginning readers in kindergarten and first grade, as well as older students who need additional decoding practice.
